SOUNDBITE (French), Rachida DATI (EPP, FR), Rapporteur, "First of all, this report about radicalisation and the fight against recruitment of European citizens by terrorist organizations is a very present one and I think the duty of the European Parliament is to address, even anticipate what are very serious situations".

SOUNDBITE (French), Rachida DATI (EPP, FR), Rapporteur, "I celebrate that this report has obtained a minimum common ground and a maximum of compromise. In this report, there are several measures, such as a better control of citizens considered as suspects in their countries of origin, during their stay in the European Union, that we can separate certain radicalised detainees or detainees in a process of radicalisation, in order to prevent them from a total drift. I want to create, and it is in this report too, a penal responsibility for Internet managers, because the Internet is not just a pipeline and promoting websites that fuel an apology of terrorism or an apology of barbarianism is unacceptable".

SOUNDBITE (French), Rachida DATI (EPP, FR), Rapporteur, "In France we have seen a report produced by the Ministry of Justice that contains horrible things concerning the return of jihadists, notably to Europe, and the fact that they are ready to commit further attacks, so it's essential that we can prevent this kind of criminality, of barbarianism, on European soil".

SOUNDBITE (French), Rachida DATI (EPP, FR), Rapporteur, "If we don't act on a European level, we won't be effective against jihadism and barbarianism, because these terrorists will always take advantage of the absence of cooperation. So, as long as there is no cooperation, we won't be able to eradicate this plague and this barbarianism".
