Az 1931-es születésű Edith Bruck Steinschreiber Edit néven látta meg a napvilágot Tiszabercelen, a szlovák és az ukrán határhoz közeli kis, kelet-magyarországi településen. Az író, költő, forgatókönyvíró, rendező, drámaíró és fordító Edith a holokauszt túlélője. Ismerjük meg a történetét! Back in the days when border controls still existed in Europe, you had to have a visa or a work permit if you wanted to live and work in another country, and there was no freedom of movement or Schengen Agreement, peoples’ lives in Europe were very different to what we are used to today. Liam shares his impressions of how much Europe has changed since then. Let’s watch his video interview!

Освен това нямаше свобода на движение или Шенгенско споразумение и животът на хората в Европа беше много различен от този, с който сме свикнали днес. Als Grenzkontrollen in Europa noch gang und gäbe waren, brauchte man ein Visum oder eine Arbeitserlaubnis, um in einem anderen Staat leben bzw. arbeiten zu können. Ohne den freien Waren- und Personenverkehr oder das Schengener Übereinkommen war das Leben in den heutigen EU-Staaten ganz anders, als wir es heute gewohnt sind. Liam spricht mit uns darüber, wie sehr sich das Leben in den Mitgliedstaaten verändert hat. Sehen wir uns an, was er zu erzählen hat.

Europatag | Liam: „Wir mussten immer vorbereitet sein … denn manchmal wartete man stundenlang.“

Dengang der stadig var grænsekontrol i Europa, skulle man have et visum eller en arbejdstilladelse, hvis man ville bo og arbejde i et andet land. Der var ikke fri bevægelighed, og Schengenaftalen eksisterede ikke. Folks liv i Europa var meget anderledes end det, vi er vant til i dag. Liam deler sine indtryk af, hvor meget Europa har ændret sig siden dengang. Lad os se hans videointerview!

Cuando en Europa aún existían los controles fronterizos, había que tener un visado o un permiso de trabajo para vivir y trabajar en otro país. No había libertad de circulación ni existía el Acuerdo de Schengen. La vida de los europeos y las europeas era muy distinta a lo que estamos acostumbrados hoy en día.
