8. marca praznujemo mednarodni dan žena, s katerim vsako leto obeležimo dosežke žensk in opozorimo na njihove pravice. To je tudi priložnost za ozaveščanje o enakosti spolov, reproduktivnih pravicah in boju proti zlorabi žensk in nasilju nad njimi. Enakost med moškimi in ženskami je že od nekdaj ena od temeljnih vrednot in ciljev Evropske unije, vendar je še vedno nismo v celoti vzpostavili.

Kako se Evropska unija bori za pravice žensk?

Ženske v povprečju predstavljajo le okoli 16 % vseh zaposlenih v kopenskem, vodnem in letalskem prometu. Zaradi pandemije je v teh ključnih gospodarskih sektorjih še hujše pomanjkanje delovne sile, zato moramo po mnenju strokovnjakov v prometni sektor pritegniti več žensk.

V preteklem stoletju so bili sprejeti številni ukrepi, s katerimi naj bi ženskam in dekletom po vsem svetu zagotovili boljše možnosti v znanosti. A pred nami je še dolga pot. Svetovna zdravstvena kriza je ogrozila enakost in upočasnila napredek na številnih področjih. Ta podkast je namenjen mednarodnemu dnevu žensk in deklet v znanosti. Pogledali bomo, kako so ženske prispevale k boju proti pandemiji covida-19, čeprav je prav nje zdravstvena kriza najbolj prizadela.
