Roberta METSOLA, EP President, meets with Ruslan STEFANCHUK, Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) in occasion of Stefanchuk's official visit to the European Parliament in Brussels. The day long visits includes the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding between  the European Parliament and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on joint framework for parliamentary democracy support  in view of Ukraine’s recovery and EU accession process and a planting ceremony. The chosen plant is a Kalyna guelder-rose, a symbol of Ukraine, to mark the European Parliament's support and solidarity with Ukraine. The Kalyna guelder-rose will be a token of our five-year mandate in the European Parliament, marking the organization's contribution to regional peace, democracy and prosperity.
