SOUNDBITE (English), Gabriele ZIMMER (GUE/NGL, DE), In our political group, in our political family we are following all the exit polls, but it is clear that we have to wait until the end, to the end of the elections in Italy, Spain and in other countries. There is a trend to see that more voters decided to vote for the EE2019 and to decide to who they will give their vote. It shows that people understand that they will have to use a democratic right and to do more for the defense of the EU as a project for peace, for a better social union, for social integration, for fighting and strengthening fighting the climate catastrophe and global warming to put also more pressure on the institutions and specially on the ruling parties here in the EP. Because of that we have to see if the young generation gave more votes to the Greens and to those political parties that were clear in the fight against global warming. 

SOUNDBITE (English), Gabriele ZIMMER (GUE/NGL, DE), It is clear that the Greens [in Germany] won a lot of voters, specially young voters and it was possible to stop a little bit the right wing rise. They did not get as much votes as expected, but it is not enough, and they gave a clear signal to the big parties, to the great coalition saying that you are not doing enough for climate change and for that we will vote our political parties. I think that looking to the left in Germany, it was not clear enough, that we are also fighting with all our strategies we have resources against climate change, looking the votes here in the EP during all the decisions we had in the EP looking for doing more for climate change and climate catastrophes, was clear that we had votes but on the national we have to do more so people understand that left parties, and also the left in Germany is voting against climate catastrophe. We have to do more.
