Violence against women and girls is a widespread and devastating human rights violation that takes place across the globe. In the EU, one third of women have experienced physical and/or sexual violence since the age of 15 and about 50 women lose their lives to domestic violence every week. The number of cases of domestic violence rised very rapidly because of the restrictive measures taken to combat COVID-19.
