Resumption of session and order of business: Introductory remark by Roberta METSOLA, EP President on Lampedusa

SOUNDBITE (English), Roberta METSOLA, President of the European Parliament, Good afternoon. Dear colleagues, welcome back to this plenary session. A couple of announcements from my end. First of all, I take the opportunity of this opening part in order to remind you all that tomorrow will mark ten years since the Lampedusa shipwreck of 2013. So, this Parliament will mark the tragic loss of over 360 men, women and children in this hemicycle before the vote. So, I would encourage the presence of all colleagues at this solemn moment.
