Saules enerģijai ir daudz priekšrocību: tā ir lēta un tīra, un pēdējā desmitgadē tās izmantošanas apjoms ir audzis visstraujāk. To var izmantot elektroenerģijai un apkurei, un tā var palīdzēt samazināt ES atkarību no enerģijas importa. Tomēr joprojām ir vairākas problēmas. Aplūkosim, kā Eiropas Savienība stāsies pretī šīm problēmām un kā saules enerģijas izmantošana varētu palīdzēt Savienībai tās pārejā uz klimatneitralitāti.
