<p>Phil Hogan, born 4 July 1960 in Kilkenny, is an Irish Fine Gael politician who has served as European Commissioner since November 2014.</p>

<p>After the hearing by the Committee on International Trade (INTA), the committee prepares an evaluation letter on the candidate. Parliament is expected to vote on the new Commission as a whole on 23 October.</p>

Maroš Šefčovič was Executive Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of the European Green Deal, Interinstitutional Relations and Foresight, and Acting Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries in the von der Leyen Commission I. He was also Vice-President of the EC in charge of the Energy Union in the Juncker Commission and has been a Member of the European Commission since 2009.
