SOUNDBITE (Spanish), Antonio TAJANI (EPP, IT), EP Vice-president, <a></a>The relations between the EU and Latin America are very important for us, Peru is a country which enjoys legal certainty, a country on the way up. The visa agreement, the new rules, will help both the European and Peruvian economies a lot. When I was Commissioner for Transport and tourism, I worked to change the visa rules, so this a very, very positive result to me. There will be an increase in European tourists in Peru and increase in Peruvian tourists in Europe. I think that it will also be important to work together with this country in the coming years, I think more could done in terms industrial policy.

SOUNDBITE (Spanish), Antonio TAJANI (EPP, IT), EP Vice-president, More European companies could come and work in the country, already the metro of Lima is being built by a European country, but much more could be invested. I think that against the delocalisation in here, it is important to help with the internationalisation of European companies, and they can become more international where there is legal certainty, where there is political stability. And Peru seems to me to be one of these countries. And we have spoken with the President about the economic situation in Europe and in Latina America, in the US, the exchange in terms of education, the fight against climate change, it is an area where we could work together very well, and to also help the green economy. We have also spoken about the situation in Europe, the fight against terrorism, the fight against drugs, the development of the whole of Latin America. For Europe and for me the coming years it could become one of the most important interlocutors.
