Following up on the 22 May meeting between Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Parliament’s political leadership, MEPs hold a second public hearing with Facebook representatives (the first was on 4 June) to look into ensuring data protection and preventing illegal use of data in the European Parliament in Brussels. Civil Liberties Committee Chair Claude Moraes (S&D, UK) said: "Following a request from the Chairs of the four Parliamentary Committees concerned, which had been adopted and defined by all political groups in the European Parliament, we had expected to hear from other speakers.
