The Facebook whistleblower, Frances HAUGEN discussed with MEPs about online safety, risk mitigation, and transparency of algorithms concerning the Digital Services Act (DSA). Frances HAUGEN stressed that the Facebook platform damages the health and safety of communities and threatens the integrity of democracies. She highlighted the DSA has the potential to be a global gold standard. She said she strongly support it partly bacause it has a content neutral approach to address the systemic risks and harms of the overall business model.
