48 recommendations have been prepared by the Panel on ‘a stronger economy, social justice and jobs / education, culture, youth and sport / digital transformation’ which concluded its work on 25-27 February in Dublin, Ireland. These ideas are now presented and discussed in the Conference Plenary at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. First part of the debate.

MEPs assess the EU Court’s decision on the request to annul the regulation that links disbursement of EU funds with respect for the rule of law. The budget conditionality regulation aims to protect EU funds from being misused by national governments that breach the rule of law. It entered into force on 1 January 2021. On 11 March 2021, Poland and Hungary challenged the regulation in the EU Court of Justice. During last month's debate on measures to address the devastating effect of the COVID-19 crisis on young Europeans’ employment, education and mental health, MEPs urged the prioritization of the needs of young people.
